The carousel horse at right came from the Coney Island carousel located in Cincinnati. It was operated by the same company that operated the Coney Island one that everyone is familiar with. Our client’s mother bought it and stored it for years. We repaired the carousel horse’s broken legs, broken neck, replaced missing jewels, cleaned and waxed it and built a base, with carousel post, for display.
Believe it or not, this is a fairly common type of damage. The movers show up and load the truck with the big, flat table on the truck floor. Then the table is loaded up with lots of boxes or smaller pieces of furniture. This severely overloads the table and the legs can't survive the speed bumps and travel to the new home.
Here's the repaired table, ready for a family dinner. This could have been easily avoided by simply unscrewing the legs from the tabletop before loading.
This dresser is part of a six piece bedroom set.
It was dropped by the movers, damaging the end, feet, drawers, doors, and top.
A replacement was not available from the manufacturer, but we were able to replicate the original
One step at a time, the damage was repaired and the finish restored. Most of the damage is now undetectable.
This carousel horse is a modern reproduction of carousel horses from the past. It was made for and presented to our client upon her graduation from medical school. Fast forward a few years and her toddler thought she could ride the horsey!
After a multi-step repair to the molded body, several color steps followed. Completely restored, it is once again proudly displayed in our client's home.
